Tonya Eaglin is originally from Lake Charles, La. She holds a Bachelor's in Psychology from McNeese State University and a Master's in Psychological Counseling from Nicholls State University. Tonya has specialized training in Marital and Family Therapy from California School of Professional Psychology- San Diego Campus. She is a Registered Mental Health
Counselor Intern with the State of Florida. She has experience with serious and persistent mentally ill, forensic psychology, children and adolescents diagnosed with emotional and behavioral disorders, and adults. Her main passion is marital and family therapy.
Tonya creates a warm and genuine therapeutic environment for her clients. Her approach to therapy is systemically based, cognitive behavioral and post-modern therapy focusing on an existential approach. Tonya's uses various evidence based techniques to meet the needs of the client. When approaching families, Tonya's approach is that in order for the client to exhibit positive change, the family subsystem has to change also.
Tonya is a professional member of the American Counseling Association, American Association of Marital and Family Therapist, and American Association of Black Psychologists. Tonya enjoys traveling, culinary, and is very active with her son Michael.
